When did you sign up to Kong, and why?

Ducky

I signed up for kong in late august of last year. i had just moved to a new city, i hadn't started classes yet, and i had a lot of time on my hands. so i figured i'd squander it by playing computer games! :)

=P And do you remember any of your first friends on Kongregate?

Ducky

my very first friend was notagamer, who has since "left the building." but there was also unproductive, and AlisonClaire, and trickyrodent, and the rest of the Old Van Gang, so to speak.

K.. how long do you spend on Kong every day?

every day? wow, this is going to be embarrassing....i suppose the average is anywhere from 2-4 hours? give or take. sometimes i'm not there at all, of course.

haha, do you really have to ask that? i spend most of my time in the van, and enjoy it. now that i've been modded, though, i get to spend some time in other rooms, which i enjoy. i mean, i enjoy it when i'm not called in to ban somebody...

Anyway moving on D: What's your favourite game & why?

favorite things are always hard for me to pick...i barely ever have one favorite anything. but among the games that i like are mardek chapter 2 (i know i'll get some flak for that, but i like it, so shaddap), the super crazy guitar maniac deluxe games (because the only thing better than practicing a real instrument is practicing a fake one), and whatever all else is on my favorite's list.

And what's your current favourite Kong feature and what are you looking forward to?

I must say that as elementary as it is, the chat on kong is brilliant. you meet great people, and what's more important, you meet great people who are better than you at games and will sometimes help you with them! what i'm looking forward to...i could say kongai like everybody else, but i'm really not sure. but i must say i'm usually a big fan of any improvements administration makes.

Anyway, game questions; do you play a lot of non-Flash games?

not recently. i used to live with somebody who had a wii, and then i sure did! i was a super big fan of zelda twilight princess, and wii tennis. also, when i'm feeling more mellow, i like the myst games for pc. they get my mind working and have gorgeous graphics.

And what's your favourite console?

Ducky

so far, the wii. i must say i love swinging my arms around to simulate whacking things. a lot of people would prefer a ps3, but i'm not so hot on first person shooters. i prefer to bop cute things on the head and whatnot.

not very long at all - perhaps about two weeks now?

hmm, I was a little surprised, but mostly happy.

Is there anyone you've seen that you thought should be a mod too?

Ducky

well *that's* a loaded question if i ever heard one! there are people who i've thought would make good mods. but being a newb mod, i should probably have some time to hone my mod-dar before my opinion counts for anything.

If a troll/spammer was trolling/spamming, what's the advised action to take:

#1: Mute

#2: Ask to stop

#3: Modcall

#4: A combination (state which)

i'd say a combination, and here's what it is: first, i'd suggest *politely* asking said troll/spammer to stop. in the event that they don't listen to you, and depending upon just how offensive they are being, or how many rules they are breaking, either just mute them, or get a mod (who may or may not tell you to just mute them). but remember, mods are always here to help. even if you're not sure if something needs attention, it's always better to ask us than not.

K, 2 more questions; What's your advice to any future moderators?

Ducky

let's see...ASK QUESTIONS! mods are often made mods because they are friendly, helpful people. as i'm new, if i'm ever in a situation that i'm unsure about, i usually ask advice from a more experienced mod. the styles of different mods are (surprise) often different, but soak up whatever information you can, and use it to create your own style.

And.. what's your advice (again!) to anyone who would like to be a moderator (almost everyone o.o)?

yay! people like duck's advice! let's see, what i usually tell people is to learn the rules, obey the rules, be accepting and friendly towards most everyone you meet in chat, and show to us that you can be helpful and a good example. it also helps if you're around pretty frequently so we know who you are. that's about it, i think.
